The voices behind the French series…

For a project as ambitious as the TV series, getting the voices right is primordial. In the case of the rose, the female character in the series, actress Marie Gillain (Le Bossu, Ni pour ni contre, Coco avant Chanel) will interpret the voice of the Little Prince’s bloom. The actress is perfectly familiar with voicing animated characters: in 2008, she was the voice of Master Tigress for the French version of the hit animation film Kung Fu Panda.

If you are familiar with the TV programme Le Grand Journal on Canal +, you will no doubt be equally familiar with Guillaume Gallienne and his bonus sketches: in each, he gives a perfect rendition of an actor or a film star. Guillaume Gallienne will be the voice of the snake, that enigmatic, emblematic character in The Little Prince.

We’re planning to pay a visit to the recording studios in the near future to see the voice actors at work. Exclusive report coming up!

The new face of the Little Prince

If you haven’t had a chance to read L’Express magazine, now is your chance to discover the new face of the Little Prince. Beyond a doubt, this is the face of the little boy described by the aviator. It is the face of a dreamer and an adventurer that children (and grown-ups) will discover on TV channel France 3 over the Christmas period this year. The Little Prince’s first adventure will take place on the mysterious Planet of Time – we’ve already given you a preview of some of the preparatory drawings.

You can now pre-order these new adventures from the online store. On 1st November, the book adaptations will be revealed: don’t miss the all-new pop-up book! The DVD of the Planet of Time will be despatched to you on 1st December.

A date with Gérard Philipe

At the start of the new school year, the Little Prince online store was giving away a delightful desk calendar with all orders over 40 euros. As we head into autumn, the store is now offering a chance to hear the golden voice of Gérard Philipe telling the story of the Little Prince (in French), again as a gift with all orders over 30 euros. For many of the Little Prince’s friends in France, this recording is a much-loved childhood memory of our first encounter with Saint-Exupéry. Now is your opportunity to relive and share the memories.

Young or old, come and play with the Little Prince!

Have you ever explored the world of “Have Fun with the Little Prince” on the website?  This vast landscape of games invites you to play the fox in the game of Sheep Push: the Little Prince’s sheep have escaped, and it’s up to the fox to herd them back into their field. In Fox Trip, the Little Prince’s friend has to jump from planet to planet as fast as possible.

In the Connect the Dots game, you have to recreate a drawing from the story in the shortest possible time – not as easy as you might think!

And whatever you do, don’t miss the Lamplighter game: it’s a work of sheer poetry – and fun – created by Lou Lubie, whom we have already mentioned in this section.

Have fun with the Little Prince!

The Bréguet and the Patrouille de France

On its take-off from Toulouse Aerodrome, the Bréguet XIV was accompanied by the aircraft of the Patrouille de France aerobatic display team. Quite an honour for the team of Bréguet XIV mechanics and pilots! Enjoy the pictures of a great moment in aviation history, and those present on the day.

A Bréguet XIV “for real”

That’s what the children who were there on Saturday 18th September will be able to say. Until we can bring you the film of what proved to be a great day,  check out this replica of an Aéropostale airplane painstakingly assembled over the years (15 years in the making!) by aviation hobbyists. The story of l’Aéropostale is more about courage than cockpits: all these pilots had to protect them from the elements was a tiny windshield and a leather flying helmet.

GIVE A FRIEND

Starting September 1st 2010, The Little Prince Store launches a large charity business operation on www.thelittleprince.com with The Reunica Foundation. This charity is called GIVE A FRIEND. The main character of the charity is the Fox. He is the Little Prince’s friend, and the one who teaches the Little Prince the meaning of friendship.

The Fluffy Fox : Friend and more
How does it work : GIVE A FRIEND starts on Sept 1st and ends on Dec 31st.
Visit www.thelittleprincestore.com and order a Fluffy Fox for ½ the retail price. You won’t receive the Fox you buy, we will give it to the Reunica Foundation who will give it to a child in a hospital. The idea is to give a friend to a lonely kid, just like the Little Prince when he met and tamed the Fox.

A gift for a lonely child
All the Fluffy Fox collected during that period will be given to the Reunica Foundation. We want to give hundreds of fluffy fox to a maximum of child. The symbol behind this fluffy fox can change a lot of thing. We know how hard it is for a kid to spend time in a hospital, and how days are long when you’re lying on a bed. So this new friend will help a lot of kids, and the fox will become their friend as the Little Prince became his in the book.

In 2010, The Little Prince & Reunica Celebrate their 5 years collaboration
Since 2005, Reunica & The Little Prince have worked together. Reunica choose the Little Prince as their image because of the great values they have in common. The Little Prince means peace and friendship all around the globe, and Reunica has always helped people in need when needed. The message behind the Little Prince is important and it can makes a difference.
