The Little Prince as seen by Lemon 5ky
Lemon 5ky (that’s pronounced “Sky”) is a 22 year-old Russian artist. His work, which is featured on the well-known Deviant Art website, is largely inspired by manga and fantasy in general. We were thrilled to encounter his highly stylised vision of the Little Prince. On asteroid B612, the Little Prince takes care of his planet, while his rose is protected by a glass bell jar and surrounded by thorns. This Little Prince even has a little house of his own that we would have loved to visit…

Volunteers needed for Petits Princes
Since 1987, the non-profit group Association Petits Princes has been helping to make dreams come true for sick children. The group needs grown-up volunteers living in or around Paris to help these little princes and princesses realise their dreams. If you can give two days a week of your time, please send your letter of application to: mail@petitsprinces.com |

The Little Prince as seen by FedM (final instalment)
Here are two new Little Princes from this talented young French comic strip artist. This time we see him dressed in his finest, a picture familiar to us all, revisited by an artist with a remarkable respect for watercolour.
The drawing on the right shows a Little Prince who appears to be leaving one planet for another. He seems pensive, wondering about the grown-ups who behave in what seem to him to be such strange ways. FedM also has his first album out on sale: Anonyman, published by Merluche Comics. |
Le Petit Monde: volunteers needed
In our section on Non Profit Organisations, one of the voluntary groups we feature is Le Petit Monde. The group, based in Lyon, has been active since 1997 and one of its activities is providing accommodation for the parents of sick children. The Maison du Petit Monde “house” consists of 47 self-contained flats where parents can stay to be close to their child in hospital.
If you live in the Lyon region and have some time to spare, you could become one of the volunteers who welcome families on their arrival at the Maison du Petit Monde. Your “duties” would involve showing parents around their temporary accommodation, providing them with information and generally providing back-up during their stay.
For further details, please visit the Le Petit Monde website. |

Draw me a sheep and win an album!
The title says it all: after asking you to draw the Little Prince on his blue planet, competition website tKaap has issued a new challenge. To your felt-tip pens, crayons or brushes in response to the Little Prince’s request: draw him a sheep! Remember that there is a rose on the Little Prince’s planet, and the sheep might eat it. Unleash your creativity and draw a sheep that would have made the Little Prince truly happy. |
The prize for each of the three winners will be a copy of the graphic adaptation of the story by Joann Sfar, author of The Rabbi’s Cat and director of the musical biopic Gainsbourg (vie héroïque) soon to hit the cinema screen.
See you on tKaap. |
