The Little Prince… made of LEGOs!

unnamedWe are asking all fans of The Little Prince around the world to vote for a LEGO project to create a play set based on the story: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/50323.  Help share the story of The Little Prince to children and adults through the use of LEGOs!
There is a deadline of April 30, 2015 to vote. In order to vote, you must first register at the LEGO.com project link: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/50323.  Follow these steps:
1) Click the blue « Support » button.
2) If you do not have a LEGO ID already, click on « GET YOUR OWN LEGO ID ».
3) Register for the new account: the easiest method is to click on « Register with Facebook » or « Register with Twitter ».  The other option is to create an account with your email (create a Username, Password, and enter your birthday – month, day, and year).

The Brooklyn Academy of Music workshop in pictures !

On April 25th, The Little Prince was the guest of honour in brooklyn Academy of Music.

To celebrate Earth Day and the 70th anniversary of everyone’s favorite interplanetary horticulturalist, BAM Education has invited classes to learn about environmental sustainability through hands-on activities and multimedia explorations. Featuring live storytelling of The Little Prince; an interactive, illuminated chalkboard mural inspired by the story; and craft projects using recycled materials, led by Materials for the Arts.

The workshop was a real success. See the pictures !

The French May, as if you were there !

The French May has begun!

From 02/05 to 02/06, the Little Prince is an honored guest in Olympian City, Hong Kong.
This year, the festival will include 120 events : 30 shows and exhibitions, 56 performances ( 28 programs);  25 movies, and 100 restaurants are partners. It is in this context that the Little Prince was offered a dedicated space: exhibition, workshops, screenings …

An Opera for the Little Prince

The genius composer Michaël Levinas interprets the timeless tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

« I wrote for children and adults of all cultures, an opera, who sings the text and the message of The Little Prince. The theatrical myth of the Little Prince has an almost Mozartian dimension. It expresses both the marvelous grace, but also the ultimate fragility and severity in front of the ruthless of the human reality : that is its paradoxical strength. «

Contest: ‘‘a wish for the planet’’

Are you between the ages of 5 and 18? We propose that you take your inspiration from The Little Prince in answering the following question:

‘‘Are the values of The Little Prince still universal values today?”

Let your inspiration and creativity guide you in bringing your dreams to life. Send your story or drawing to education-outreach@un.org by 5 June 2014, World Environment Day. Awards will be announced at the United Nations Headquarters in September, 2014 as part of the International Day of Peace commemoration.

The contest will begin on 20 March 2014, the International Day of Francophonie, and is open to participants between the ages of 5 and 18. Three awards will be given for each age category (5-8, 9-12, 13-15, and 16-18) and the winning submissions will be posted on a United Nations website. We ask that you please include your first name, last name, date of birth, and e-mail address. All drawings must be digitized and text submissions, either in English or French, must not exceed 500 words. Participants retain ownership rights for their drawings or text, but by participating in the contest, they agree to give the United Nations the exclusive, irrevocable right to use the contents of their submission, fully or partially, without compensation. Winners must provide proof of their date of birth.

The French Army commemorates Saint-Exupéry last flight

The French Airbase Cognac 709 will commemorate the 70th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry passing away.

The famous writer and pilot disappeared in a Lockheed P-38 Lightning on July 31, 1944. He was then a commandant in a reconnaissance squadron whose traditions are held today by Squadron 1/33  » Belfort « , parked on the 709 air Base Cognac. The event will illustrate the link between Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, pilot in 1944, and today’s squadron, using drones thanks to the French Air Army innovation.

The Air army and the foundation Antoine de Saint-Exupéry share the sames values of peace and help for the youth, so the established a partnership.Created by the heirs of the author and performing actions in the world for the benefit of youth, especially in the field of education , it naturally participate in this celebration.
